All of Dane's test results are back now and all are normal - including thyroid and atch. He was stalled for two months last winter at a training barn with no winter turnout and had been clipped, then came home for a week or two before going up into late spring at the Jensen's in Lumby, BC where the nights, I'm sure, were still cold. Now the recommendation is to let him go through a regular cycle of fall, winter, spring and see if his coat growth and shed out are back to normal. As my other fjordies are shedding summer coats and starting to grow longer ones again (why can I only have 3 months of sleekness a year?), his growing a coat now isn't indicative of anything. I'm happy I had the tests done but I'm now optimistic that his unusual winter into spring accomodation changes messed up his internal timing. We'll be watching him next spring.
