Hi,
Just got back for a very cold but good drive in an area that I had not
been to in about 2 years. I've stayed away from that road because of
one dog the gets right in my horse's face. Or should I say nose and I
was afraid he would lunge and really bite her. It was a red pit bull
looking type. So that particular dog was not around, but I did shake up
a few other ones that came out to greet us. Most of the dogs are
intimidated by a horse, but on the way home I had to drive with one hand
and keep the whip hand ready to strike any dogs that came too close. I
was able to make contact with two and loved seeing them turn tail and
run home. Hopefully they will remember this lesson the next time I go
by and will no longer keep me from using that road. I can always pack
my super shooter water gun with a bit of vinegar/water mix in it too.
