Dear NFHR Members,

First, I am excited to report the winter issue of the Fjord Herald is indeed in the mail! You should start receiving it most any day now. I just receive my file copy and it is awesome. I am hopeful you all will be equally impressed when your issue arrives. You have a first rate publication that I am proud to be associated with. I believe that once you see your publication with its new face, you will find it was worth the wait. I am truly sorry for the long delay and take ownership of the problem.

Next, I humbly apologize for the delay in production and delivery of your publication. I make no excuse, but feel it only fair to let you know that in putting the Herald together, I have also been rebuilding my life, my home, and my business, as a result of getting flooded out last summer. I am here to tell you that Murphy's Law is alive and well. Everything that my husband and I planned in rebuilding has had a hitch in its get-along. We have had many blessings as a result, but also many set backs and disappointments. We anticipated moving back into our home over the Labor Weekend. That did not happen. We finally moved back in at the first of November. We literally camped in our front yard from June to November. In rebuilding my home office, my equipment did not arrive until the week before Christmas; it was ordered in mid-October with a ship date of the week before Thanksgiving. While things are starting to fall back into place, we still have a lot of work to do and many boxes to unpack. You can see pictures of our adventure at http://www.thedragonslair.us.

Now, having said all this, I need your help. I am working on the Spring issue and will be going to print on March 28. If you are wanting to place an ad, now is the time to send it to me. I need content. It won't be much of a publication if there is no content. What have you been doing all winter? What are your plans for the summer? Did you attend an educational seminar? Did you learn something new about your horses? Do have some tips you would like to share with others? What types of articles would you like see? This is your publication and your place to share your thoughts, comments, and ideas. It represents you and is an ambassador for drawing new people into your organization.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any comments, questions, or concerns. I am here to serve.

Yours truly,
Donna Hornsby, Fjord Herald Editor
