Hoping for some help with the trimming of the mane on my new Fjord. As mentioned before I am new to the breed and have alot to learn. Yesterday i went for ride number two on "copycat" and his mane is so long and everywhere. Hoping to bring him home next week if this snow would go away. His mane is approximately 6 inches long everywhere. Do you cut a bridle path at all? Should i use scissors at first or clippers? I used a bighorn saddle with my limpet pad for our ride and this worked well. Hoping to get his papers this week and would like to do some research on his past. Can you research show history and such on this breed via a website? Sorry for all the questions, but you all are so helpful. Snowing with 4.5" on the ground so far, 12 more expected and 23 degrees.
