Hi there - I've found that lots of hill work is essential when dealing with  
a locked stifle. We are very lucky that most of the farm (Freedom Hills is  
located on Rolling Hills Ranch) is major hills so even when out grazing they 
are 
 always going up and down hills. We have had several come in with this 
problem  and most recovered to servicably sound.
