The term : "ladies horse" is traditionally know for disposition. Well
mannered. Size makes no difference.

Sophie Fiedler was always very knowledable regarding natural remedies. One I
really like and use is Tea Tree Oil. I mix it with Orvus soap, or any
base and apply for irritations. Another is Witch Hazel and cotton balls to
clean the ears. I have a gelding right now that came to me with a major skin
irritation on both sides of his neck, I'm getting him ready for a halter
class at Blue Earth. Everyday I wash the area with Tea Tree oil and Orvus -
let is set and rinse. Its just about all gone and the hair coming in is
glossy and healthy. Good stuff. And I love the smell. Clean.

As far as stalls: When we built my barn we used 2x8 treated tongue and
groove wollmanized (don't know how to spell it - sounds like that).....on
the bottom two boards which are anchored in cement. All the top boards are
, well my husband said they were Southern Illinois Pine 2x8 non treated. I
have no idea if northern Illinois pine, or southwestern pine or pine from
the rain forests makes a difference. Who knows, the only pine I know comes
in a bottle and I pour some on my wash rack floor for cleaning. Or spray it
in the bathroom when guests are coming and I want them to think I'm a good
housekeeper.

Pat in northern Illinois with southern wood.
