Hi -

I agree that the foal probably is grey. I also agree that the vet should be
consulted both about the "runs" and the richness of the milk. Even tho the
runs probably are a result of the mare's foal heat [6-12] days after birth,
baby can still get seriously dehydrated. Joint problems are also possible if
milk is toooo rich.

Desitin works better than anything else for the rawness, just as it does on
human foals.
