i spent most of the day with the fjordie people at the horse expo yesterday.
you should have told me that when a person buys a fjord, you get an entire
extended family to go with it! when i got there, half the people i met already
knew my name and who i was. i guess linda lottie was spreading the news. i met
her daughter, kristen lee and her daughter, the lustys from minnesota, mark
mcginley from nfhr, linda severson-kerr and her horse named markus, deeann who
tells me she lurks on here.... plus others. what fun.

the fjord group did the breed proud in the demos. i watched all of them, and
in several breeds there were problems that were pretty scary to watch. i am
sure some was due to nerves on the part of the rider, and others horses that
weren't prepared for the noise and lights. one man riding saddleseat (can't
remember the breed) went off his horse, a rather oversized woman on what i
think
was an arab was having trouble with him, got off balance and they both went
down. she kept hold of the reins, but came close to getting stepped on. others
got
all jiggy when they saw the gate opening to leave, someone fell down with her
stallion in hand and almost got stepped on.

but all the fjords came in calmly and did what they were told and looked
great. linda's daughter was riding english, as was kirsten, the other linda
rode
western, and she was awesome. she rode markus onto a board balanced across a
log (like a teeter totter) and he just stood there shifting back and forth.
then
she rode over and got him to stand all 4 feet up on a box. they were quite
the hit. 3 people were driving, including lusty's, who had their 3 month old
filly trotting alongside mom as she pulled the cart. what a crowd pleaser.
so, i await Oz.........
