Did someone out there speak of lonely and wanting Fjord mail?

Thought I might share a bit about our open house here on New Year's Day. The
setting was classic, a foot and a half of frosty snow and forested mountainous
landscape slathered with snowy accents! (The stuff that Christmas Cards are
made of. =))

We had Fjord team driven sleigh rides around an already prepared course
throughout the day. A warm-up room near the track offered treats, desserts,
and simmering hot chili-- flippantly called, "Mad Cow Chili," by some. =)))

Gene had just completed building the new three-seated sleigh, painted
stagecoach red of course, and I'd be glad to send a photo of it to anyone who
sends me their email address, mine is [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Howard Berge of Colburne, ID, took turns driving, and Chip Lamb of Quad-L's
was here also. Suffice it to say it was a howling success! Of course the real
celebrities of the day were the odd couple, Fjords Odie and Hohmer, who
faithfully chugged around the loop to the tinkling of bells. When resting
between runs they nobly soaked up love and adoration afforded by the waiting
lineup.

We had rave reviews, one lady repeatedly thanked me, saying that she had never
before ridden on a horse driven sleigh and it was the most wonderful
experience that she had had in a long time! She went on to say that she was
thrilled to expose her granddaughter to an historical experience which offered
so much fun. Our son had additionally prepared a kiddy sled run which
entertained the youngsters. We roughly counted over 60 people.

The Libby Show photographers were here, the Baker gals, so maybe photos of the
event will end up in another national magazine (which has happened twice
before).

If you've never done this, you should seriously consider giving it a try.
Maybe, like us, you're not able to travel a great deal for Fjord promotional
efforts, but this could be a delightful way to bring the market to you! I see
where other non-Fjord folks are doing this for profit in this region, which
would just about make the experience too good to be true. =)))

We were so fortunate to have had a good day for our "wing-ding," it was some
chilly, but we had a big bonfire outside-- for at least psychological warmth.
This morning it is MINUS 20 degrees Fahrenheit here in northwest Montana !!
(gasp) which for our other-country friends would be -30 C I believe. Can you
top that temp, Jean of Fairbanks ?

Does this letter sound like bragging? Well... the whole "dad-gummed" day was
so "dad-burned" perfect (been watching Bonanza reruns =)) I just can't help
myself !
