Greetings from ND, where we are haying, harvesting and dancing for rain as
well.

Had to weigh a bit in on the clothing issue as far as showing fjords go. It
seems to me that the focus on clothing/dress outweighs the horse itself.
Sure, one should dress correctly for the particular show that one goes to, and
one should have a conditioned horse, presented well. I grew up in Norway, and
as many will see at Nordfjordeid, a good norwegian sweater or national costume
is plenty to dress in for showing our national pride in the Fjord. I do not
currently show due to being busy with motherhood and farming, but if I did I
would probably show in Libby or Blue Earth, and dress as norwegian as I could,
plus my horses would be fit, yet natural as far as grooming is concerned!!
Adapt oneself to what area and what show, BUT do not lose your personal touch
either. Maybe I am naive as I think the horse should be the focus in a show,
- oh well.

I tend to agree with Ruth, if in the west, be western! If in ND, - ???? :> ,
if in New England, english or whatever.

Point in case, if I ever get to the Kentucky Derby, I will wear a hat!!

Janne
