I know lots of people do it successfully, and it may have something to do with the conformation/build of the Fjord (ours are the heavier ones), but it has not worked well here. We use a 50' round pen to work off excess energy. We find they pay more attention to "work" if we roundpen them tacked up, than they do with just a halter on. They seem to resent being sent around when they see no reason for it I guess.
