Amen to that Merek.  I would rather have a Remington 870 with a pistol grip
(loaded with 00 Buck) for any close quarters need......including Bear or
Cougar......or.....     than any rifle.

In Viet Nam most of the shotguns used flechette rounds.  If you don't know
what they are, don't ask.....they are nasty.

Keep one handy with an extended 8 shot tubular magazine.

We also have Great Pyrenees LGD's (Livestock Guardian Dogs).  Had three, now
have two.  One is waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge.
