Has Redford been taught to longe? The youngsters that I have had experience with are usually taught to walk, trot and canter with tack, on the line at about a 20 meter circle. Bucking is reprimanded with a sharp tug and the word "no" when the horse is tacked up. The horse must be taught that when the saddle is on, it's time to work. I've always seen the youngsters longed for about 15-20 min. before the rider gets on, and have not experienced any bucking.
