This message is from: Jean Ernest <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Does anybody have any experience with leasing out a horse with option to buy? My friend Walt Brunner who raises a few fjords up her, has a 5 year old mare for sale: She is green trained to ride. A lady has been coming by trying her out, etc. and really loves her and wants to lease her with option to buy, as she feels she doesn't want to shell out a big chunk of money (go into debt) for a horse right now, but this is the one she wants. (She could afford a cheaper horse such as a quarterhorse, arab cross or grade horse, but wants THIS FJORD!) She would have the mare at her place and provide the feed etc. Her place is only about 12 miles away so they could check on her. Walt would like to have some payment each month, rather than a "free lease" just for feed and board.
Does anybody have a contract available that would fit this arrangement? Do you have any suggestion as to what to charge to lease a green horse like this? The payment could go toward the purchase. I think the purchase price is about $4000. Any suggestion as to what should go into such a leasing contract? Thanks for any help or suggestions. Jean in Fairbanks, Alask, another 85 degree day! More showers. Really damp and muggy, but certainly not as bad as the Eastern US! ************************************************************ Jean Ernest Fairbanks, Alaska [EMAIL PROTECTED]
