She just purchased a 3 yo filly from me, and has been around fjords for
about 7 years. She runs a nice B+B in Sedona and is lots of fun.
Re. western saddles. I ride in a custom Ricotti saddle, ( 1 800 RICOTTI )
They are out of Clements, Ca. and are not cheap, but Rick is very good at
listening to the needs of his clients and can do ANYTHING!( he's also a
civil engineer and realy is into the way things function properly). I have
had alot of inquiries about this saddle at the shows, ( Libby, Turlock) and
it is going strong. A dressage seat in a western saddle, free swinging
fenders, "A" fork w/ a 4" cantle. The secret is in the bars: the tree was
custom made, took 2 tries,fitted on a young gelding and a mature stallion,
both fjords. The front of the bars are "rocked" to get out of the way of the
shoulder area, ( also a big problem on my Anglo Arab mare from years ago.)
