You see, I gave this filly to "the offender" as a bribe to sell the quarter horses. And with some coaching I was allowing "the offender" the opportunity to bring up his own baby. Till "the offender" had to go out of town and I started handling her. Whoa!!!! That was when we had our talk! "The offender" who will STILL remain nameless now doesn't have free rein with his horse. I've taken over much of the ground training and explained how we do NOT implicitly let the horse think it is cute when it mouths leather jackets. Especially when I've got a special child around. I got through. Loud and clear. To be fair, he never really CONSCIOUSLY encouraged the filly. Just would say "oh, you think my jacket is tack" in a loving tone of voice, instead of a harsh "QUIT" and maybe a little jerk of a lead rope. He knows better now. I know better now, that he needs a little supervision when working with his filly. She's going to be exquisite. Heck, she's exquisite now. And has a very sweet, smart nature. Pamela
