"Oh yea. Have fun <G> And DONT run over the judge."
Lisa Pederson
Ooooh,Lisa ! Great post... but you may also want to add:
When they ask you to cross on the diagonal at the ring stewards direction,
Puleese! don't run over the poor ring steward, and diagonal is opposite
corner to opposite corner...
...for some reason, this part of arena carriage driving usually gets pretty
screwed up ;^D
I should also add: it's OK to pass if you have plenty of room and aren't
cutting someone off right in front of the judge; if you must "go somewhere"
to avoid a slowpoke up ahead, or to get someone off you back (literally!) do
a clean liitle 15m circle & fall in behind in a nicer spot. (Once had a
judge comment on our good ring skills in a tight reinsmanship class composed
of single mini's, a HOT Andalusian stallion and a 4 up of Standardbreds,
among others. That was one WILD class!)
Also, re. "prezzo" & finding a driving wardrobe: check out consignment
stores, especialy in really affluent areas; the Real Deal for waaaay le$$.
