My fjord is microchipped and I have had no problems, nor have I heard of anyone else having problems. I think that it is a lot less painful and stressful on the horse than branding. I was speaking to a local farmer and he said that in cattle, the chip moves around, but I think it was more of an inconvenience finding it again, rather than it being dangerous to the animals health. The best person to speak to would be your vet who will know the pros and cons. Perhaps the person buying the horse could speak to your vet and be reassured. I agree with your apprehension about branding as it does seem a bit barbaric in this day and age! Good luck Linda Bain Scotland
