Steve -

Yes it's really the coggins test they will require as of January 1. In
Michigan a coggins is good for 6 months interstate and 12 months
intrastate. We received a copy of the law last week and called the
State Vet as it seemed really strict. He confirmed it. Wouldn't be so
bad if you owned only a horse or two but I have 16 right now and take
everyone 2 or over out and about for training, trail riding etc. Could
get expensive!! Our state vet talked like the Dept of Ag was really
going to be out there checking. Myself, I don't think they have that
much manpower to check that closely all over the state. I guess we'll
have to wait and see.

The vets feel our clients will be mad at us, thinking this is a
veterinary ploy to make some money. I HATE typing coggins papers! It's
not even like we had a lot of positive's. Actually we had 0 positive's
so far this year.

How can you figure out the government?

Nancy in Michigan where we are really getting dumped on. Supposed to
have 10-12 more inches tonight.
