Hi Libby people! Can anyone tell me who took Grand Champion Stallion - mare - and gelding? Could someone fill in on the halter classes please. We had a great show of Fjords at the Villa Louie Carriage Classic last week end. Michael and Betsy Scott with Miss Naveta (Gjest) took the Novice division championship with their typical perfect turnout. Although I didn't see all their classes - it was good competition _- I heard they smoked the cross country...I believe they ended up winning four of the six division classes and the other classes with 2nd places. I also believe they earned the final points for the Excellence Award from NFHR. Joanie Kepros was neck and neck with MVF Hilde and a seasoned horse and driver. I wish I remembered all they won but I do know the Hilde mare is a beautiful moving mare and Joanie and Angie had a wonderful turnout. It was very nice to see Joanie drive and do so well....also she and Hilde took the open pony championship at the Kentucky Gala last month. The Fjords are winning and taking championships all over the country. Sue Keating won the pairs championship with two geldings (sorry don't know the breeding) but they were Gene Bauer horses of course!...Classy turnout and it was a the first time I saw Sue drive - her reputation for being one of the best whips -is certainly well deserved. And she had her two very young children with her....talk about work. Thats all I know from the Midwest........Oh to all my friends who saw our Penny mare do her thing and "fly" thru her intro riding test at Blue Earth......I just came back from a hunter-jumper show and she won a green over fence class.....we should have known all along she's happiest in the air! Actually she is doing great on the ground as well....she has settled down and accepted the show world and new places very well and she is one of the nicest Fjords to ride, sensitive and light -not at all heavy -very very light mouth, big trot....oh did I mention she is for sale. She was imported from Holland and by the stallion Heiman. She stand 13-3 and she's 5 years old. she took a score of 83 % at the Blue Earth evaluation in conformation (blue level) and won her age halter class at the show. She is the one with the outstanding zebra strips and doll baby head. Call or email us for a video and more info. Pat Holland and Green Valley Farm
