To those who raise foals, what is the best age to wean them? ... 5-6 months? Also, when weaning foals, are they taken away gradually? That is, are they brought back to the dams say once or twice a day to nurse? Or are they weaned "cold turkey"? If so, do you take some milk from the mother if her udder is hard?
