Calcium/phosphorous should be a 1/1 or 2/1 ratio. Timothy can sometimes offer the best balance depending on where it was raised and if it was cut at the proper time. I like to give alfalfa once a day and orchard grass once a day in the winter or cooler months. The time of cutting is also important re alfalfa as to how much protein if has. Jean
