This message is from: "Jean Gayle" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Lol Teresa, I went to Seattle to a large breeding facility to pick up my maiden thoroughbred mare, Bubb. I had raised her from an abandoned two year old and she was now five. When I arrived no one was in the whole place!!! What faced me was a double row of mostly bay (like her) mares all looking alike and all looking at me. I walked down the rows hoping to see a familiar article like a brush or halter but they did not stand out from the others. In panic I tried to remember if she had face markings, don't think so! I talked to all and no one seemed impressed. I finally tried to calm down and trust my instincts. One mare fit that and I led her from the stall hoping not to be arrested for horse theft. I had spent every day attending to that mare for three years and rode her. She did have one white pastern, but was it on the left or right?
When we arrived at the trailer I knew I had her I thought for sure as she was a problem loader and refused in her way to go in. I was still not sure until one of the barn ladies arrived and remarked that Bubb was giving me the usual problems. Yes said I but never admitted my confusion. When I got home I studied every aspect of that mare and never had a problem after that.
