This message is from: "Sanders" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Libby was the most rewarding and contradictory week of my year. On one hand it was a blast and I loved it. This was our third Libby and I FINALLY got to meet people. There are some truly astoundingly wonderful people in this group. The best part of owning a fjord (versus other horses) is that fjord people are helpful, informative, gracious and truly love to be kind to their animals and to children.
It was discovered that most fjord owners go above and beyond with their sportsmanship and respect for each other. For example, one teenage girl fell off during bareback equitation and another adult competitor stopped and put her foot out to give the girl a leg up. That is sportsmanship at its finest. Her reward was far more than the two dollar ribbon she sacrificed to help a young person who is still learning. I learned so much my head started leaking information through my cranial cavity. But I stuck a finger in it to staunch the flow (your choice of finger). Guess what! Fjords really don't all look alike! But the best class of all, for me, was the stick horse class. There were some adorable homemade (backyard breeding at its finest) horses. We finally got to see Jennie's sister on a horse! She was so excited that she was up and dressed hours before her class. Her nervousness before her class was as real to her as anyone's. But she did it!!! We were all SO proud of her! Thank you Libby for letting her have this once-in-a-life-time experience. When I close my eyes I still see horses! Teresa Sanders Sandpoint, ID
