Just a word of caution on receiver hitches. Most class III hitches are only rated to 500 lbs of tongue weight and 5000 gross trailer weight without a weight distribution device. Most 3 or 4 horse stock trailers with a couple of horses are over this limit. Most will be labelled for a class IV hitch. Don't let the hitch be the weak link. Watch your GCVW (gross combined vehicle weight) also as most manufacturers tend to exaggerate this figure.
