We have a typical center aisle barn with stall fronts on each side consisting of 8 ft. of grilled wall and 4ft. grilled sliding doors. The grills are 1/2" round iron bars, the rest of the stall fronts are tongue and groove lumber. Stalls themselves are tongue & groove up to 7 ft., floors are mats over stonedust. After 18 years things are looking dingy and the farm will be listed with a realtor soon. We would like to have things reconditioned. Has anyone ever tried to completely clean and repaint the interior of a horse barn to make it look almost new? It has the usual dust that is unavoidable, and the chewed door edges because the barn builder did not encase them in metal. The painter recommends power washing which sounds like a big mess and wire brushing the metal grills which sounds expensive. Now I'm wondering if simply buying new stall fronts would be a better idea. So if anyone out there has bit the bullet and done this and has advice I'd love to hear it. (husband thinks I'm crazy for even wanting to do it). Lois in sunny NJ
