Hi. We had a trailer cam installed last year. I love it and would hate to
travel without one again. Its especially great when travelling with young
ones - they can be unpredictable! Our trailer is a stock trailer with centre
divider to make 8' box-stalls.
On our first trip with the camera we delivered a yearling - his first trip,
but Mom was with him for the first 1/2 of the trip. He travelled quietly. We
dropped mom off for a dirty weekend with Felix and continued on our way.
Before we started off though Venn tried to jump over the centre divider
after Mom - Yikes! So we closed up the back of the trailer (we had been
standing outside visiting) and went on our way. Without the camera we would
have been basket-cases stopping at every little sound or bump! As it turns
out, Venn settled right down and went to sleep :-)
We spent the extra $$ for a professional type camera that is built to handle
the type of abuse (vibrations - temperatures changes, etc.) that occurs in a
vehicle.
This is a link to the type of camera system that we had installed. It was
about $700 Cdn.
