I agree Carol... it is not easy to keep a stallion around. I am sorry if my last message gave you the impression that I indicated it was easy to keep a stallion. It is not. Only a professional horseman should keep a stallion. We have had up to 8 stallions around our farm... Not an easy task to keep them all happy. ----- new subject - Video Judging / Evaluation... ---- I am not sold on the idea of having a horse evaluated on a video tape. I know that I would not take on the job of judging or appraising a horse by video. I am not sure you would find a carded judge that would give you their professional views on a horse by a video tape only. Videos do help sell a horse, I can agree with that. It help the buyer see the movement and see the horse in action. Videos can also be misleading and edited. Just as photograph can be altered, so can photos and videos. To render a decision on a photograph or video would place a judge in an awkward position. Evaluations are available and can be arranged anywhere and almost anytime. Like Ursula stated, they can be Conformation only, like the one in Turlock and they can be a combination of conformation and performance. ---- Our farm, along with the Oregon Fjord Club is hosting the one at HESTEHAVEN in Southern Oregon on September 6 & 7, 2003.
