The only time I used a "bungee" type tie, I had my fjords tied outside the
corral to clean it. Stella was tied with one of those very substantial
"bungee" trailer ties with a "quick release" on one end. She put her head
down to try to eat grass and came up with the cord over her head. While
she didn't really panic, she kept pulling back with the heavy stretchy
bungee over her head, while I was trying to release the ""quick Release"
snap which was at the halter. It wouldn't release. it was bit of a fight
to get her to back off from the pressure ove her head and get the cord off
of her. No damage, but I decided that these stretchy bungee ties were not
a good thing and have never used it since. (Maybe should put it in the next
tack sale and let someone else have a disaster?)
