Great point, as in contrast, our region in the northern plains is not expensive, and there is NOT alot of $$ to go around, actually the region is very depressed as far as the horse market goes. Reg. weanling QH going for $45 and up, no kidding. Sure, some are not the hottest well bred foals, but healthy handled and ok for a family horse. But at this price we all know where they are going. We price our weanlings according to what I can realistically get as shipping is a big expense from here. Have never sold one locally, working hard on it tho, as Fjords are just perfect for this climate!! And our mares are not evaluated, - wish they were, they are not only because it is far to go and we have other priorities spring through fall, as well as young family. I herald the evaluation system, keep it going, maybe one day we'll show up. Janne in snowy ND
