Great point, as in contrast,  our region in the northern plains is not
expensive, and there is NOT alot of $$ to go around, actually the region is
very depressed as far as the horse market goes.  Reg. weanling QH going for
$45 and up, no kidding.  Sure, some are not the hottest well bred foals, but
healthy handled and ok for a family horse.  But at this price we all know
where they are going.    We price our weanlings according to what I can
realistically get as shipping is a big expense from here. Have never sold
one locally, working hard on it tho, as Fjords are just perfect for this
climate!!   And our mares are not evaluated, - wish they were, they are not
only because it is far to go and we have other priorities spring through
fall, as well as young family.  I herald the evaluation system, keep it
going, maybe one day we'll show up.
