Our Classic Shetland stallion has been tested homozygous for the tobiano gene. From our understanding from both the lab and our equine vet, the only test they can perform is to see if the animal in question throws white, indicating pinto or paint offspring. To date, this stallion has sired all black and white pintos. With Fjords, I am not sure how this test would be of any relevance. Hope this helps a bit.
