My mother had Fjords for a while and I always enjoyed them. But truly this winter was when I fell head over heels for them. This last winter I was going through a very rough pregnancy. I was miserable 99% of the time. One of the only places I found serenity was bundling up in warm winter garb and going out to the pasture. I would lay in the old ditch hay we threw out for the horses to lay in. It was the only place I would find rest. As I fell asleep I would wake up with 2-3 horses resting right near me. They were so gentle and careful. I was slightly elevated above them and so comfortable. As everyone knows horses have a sense about them, and all of them would come comfort me in that most difficult time. I had a beautiful baby boy in May. His first horse will be a Fjord!
