I also forgot to write about the evaluation, in my last post to the list. Not only having the big celebration Sat. night, the Horse Show, Friday, Sat and Sunday. We also had a wonderful display of quality Fjords being evaluated. The judges were tough, which is a good thing. Hard to take as an owner some times, but hopefully it will keep our Fjords in high standards. The Europeans presented each exhibitor with a token of appreciation, a book mark and a wall hanging and picked a couple from each test and presented them with a small Fjord statue. That was really cool I thought. Some outstanding scores in the performance tests. I know Janet McNally got a 91 in the intro. draft, and an 85 in the advance with FCF Gyda. Have to say, a mare that was born here and I sold to her after starting her in riding, driving and draft. :-)Plus she also got an 89 with her 3 yr old filly, Helga in the intro. draft. Who was here this year being trained to ride, drive and do draft. That was really exciting to hear as Janet does "real" draft work with the girls at home and both Janet and her girls really know what they are doing. GREAT JOB JANET and girls! I'm pretty sure Prydarson got all blues now in all the evaluation tests. That is an awesome stallion. I'll let Pat W. tell his story about the whole show, cool stallion! I took a mare in for conformation and intro. riding. Owned by Randi Nielsen. Vor Onask received a 75 in conformation and an 82 in intro. riding. I was thrilled as this mare needs her warm up time and it was getting nerve racking wondering if we were gonna get it or not. Luckily they took a break and opened up the arena where i was able to get her focused and listening. She rode beautifully, THANK YOU ONASK and Randi! Takes a lot of work to get your horse ready for the evaluation and if you are not able to do it yourself ,it is really wonderful to hire out and get the job done. So....that the horse can be shown to it's best ability. Hostar did outstanding in his tests. I'll let Pat H. tell her story as she is enroute out West to bring him home to Melinda Springs. She'll be home next week. Just hats off to him and Pat alike! Many many more wonderful horses and scores and it was really tough at this evaluation having to deal with the weather, limited warm up area, late hours. BUT...I would just like to say thank you to everyone that brought horses, it was very impressive to see that many Fjords being evaluated. Takes a lot of work, money, time and talent and I was thrilled to see so many tests being performed. Did I say I was glad to be home in my last email, I'm piled high in laundry. ugh! :-) Patti Jo Walter www.franciscreekfjords.com The FjordHorse List archives can be found at: http://tinyurl.com/rcepw
