We enjoyed watching the same reaction at Blue Earth show this past
summer, especially from teens, but for exactly the opposite reason --
our gelding Rogan does NOT have a trimmed mane.
His "California punk homeboy" look with his two-tone long mane with sun
bleached reddish ends was quite distinctive in the barn of meticulously
trimmed horses.
It was even more obvious because he often stood with his head over the
gate with a cheerful "come hither" attitude, happily soliciting pets and
attention.
