Hi,

I just had to jump in here and tell a couple of funny stories on Dusty.
Personally, I don't particularly like riding in parades - HURRY UP & WAIT! The
last one that we rode in was the Festival of Roses in Portland, OR a few years
ago. That is the second largest in the country and is it ever a MARATHON! We
had to be at the staging area at 5:30 AM. Judging didn't start for another
couple of hours and it was insufferably HOT. I have shared that story
previously so won't rehash it again, but long story short, we did win the
trophy for
Best Dressed Group.

A couple of years ago we rode in a parade in Astoria, OR that was held in
conjunction with a Scandanavian Festival. We were right behind a marching
band.
As in most parades, there were several stops along the way. Each time the
parade began moving again, the band began with the big drum beating.
Apparently
Dusty took that as his personal cue. His head would come up and he would
stay in perfect rhythm as long as the band was playing. I can only guess that
that came from years of doing Freestyle Reining with music. I swear he listens
to the beat of the music!!

I think Dusty gets pretty bored with parades. He prefers faster action
sports and wants a job to do. SO, to entertain himself, he has discovered his
own
reflection in store windows and is perpetually looking for that GORGEOUS
creature who appears on and off! If it is a big window, he gets all puffed up
and
screams - COME HITHER BEAUTIFUL! He has a pretty inflated ego! What a HAM!
He kept us in stitches.
