I use a Wintec Pro Dressage with the Cair Panels and the wintec girth. It
has fit all of my fjords. I have noticed (and been told by judges when I
was a scribe) that many Wintecs squeak horribly and that it is a distraction
from the test. The Wintecs with the Cair panels do not squeak. The Wintec
pro dressage is also a very comfy saddle for me and is great for shorter
trail rides. Its also easy to clean, just hose it off, and has adjustable
leg and thigh rolls and you can get larger sizes on those if you want them.
The saddles tree width is also adjustable by using a different insert. And
they are available at a reasonable price on EBay as a "Buy it Now" item.
You don't often find them used so if you find one, grab it. They go fast.

We use a Wintec wide all purpose and love it but we are using it with a
neoprene girth instead of the wintec that came with it.

Subject: does the perfect saddle exist?

Hi Group,
I am starting to get frustrated about finding a saddle that will work for
my 5 year old Fjord and me. Although I like to do everything from dressage
to low jumps, to riding in the mountains, I am leaning towards a dressage or
an endurance saddle. I have ordered a treeless from England (that felt like
trying to sit on a cube) so that one is on its way back, I am eyeing the
Wintec extra wide saddles (dressage or endurance), I have tried a couple of
different Duett saddles and they slid all over her back....
I would love to know what the rest of you are riding your Fjords in. I
was told that (at least in a Duett) we need a 38 cm, 17 inch seat..... I am
not completely opposed to a western style, aussie, other endurance types, I
just need something that fits us both.

Thanks for any feedback, oh, and if you reply, please let me know the
brand, style as well as any saddle measurements. Thanks.
  Silja
