This message is from: [EMAIL PROTECTED] In response to Ruth's very sad story about the runaway wagon at the Tucson parade causing a child's death, I witnessed only one runaway wagon in my life, at a nearby Farm Day, a nice place where they showcase old-breed farm animals, implements, and ways of doing things from long ago. It is low key and not crowded. They have a metal buckboard wagon pulled by 2 Belgians for rides. One year something spooked them and there was no driver. There was a header, but he was quickly dispatched of in their rush. They careened through the grounds and then across the country road to the parking lot, where they could not go straight, so took a sudden left, pulling the wagon over a few cars. That left the wagon behind, but still hitched to each other, they ran back to the farm. Somehow they were quieted. No one was hurt, except for some cars. But I saw the fury and power of a runaway team. It reminds me of a quote from one of Connecticut's oldest residents visited by a reporter at her nursing home. She was asked how she had lived so long and she said, "My Dad long ago told me to watch out for mad dogs and runaway horses." Valerie in snowy Connecticut
