Hi Linda !
We also cut our Fjord manes every couple of weeks. BUT, twice a year, we
also roach them off totally. In fact, we did all of our manes around Nov. 1,
just
after returning from Winona. Right now, they look great, with a little
tapering on top and bottom. I also like a close cut mane.....learned that from
Jensens team and their nice trim looking manes. Sooooooo, we are now again
going to
get out the big clippers and shave them off. Around the end of May, just in
time for the begining of the show and visitor season, ( and 3 mares with new
foal pics ! ) they will look wonderful ! I find this especially nessessary
with
the older Fjords who get a thicker neck base.
