Well, today was our first official outing with our new love Fair Acres Ole.
We were invited to be a breed representative at the Emerald Downs Breed Expo
(my mother owns TBs down at the track, that was our connection). Would love
to have Fjord company next year :-)
What fun to see the different breeds and how they all behave in the
"background".
And then there was Ole...the trains going by, blowing their whistles -
hardly warrants a glance. The big freaky stadium with all those people
yelling & screaming, waving & jumping - just another day in the park for
Ole. While the most of the other horses were, uhmmm, excited, Ole was the
perfect gentleman and dare I say, breed representative for Norwegian Fjords.
With a 7 year old boy on his back, he quietly walked along side me enjoying
the crowds, and didn't even flinch when the large tractors came roaring up
behind us. Even loading up to go home, a simple rope over the neck &
"trailer" and he hopped right in.
Don't know if anyone else is planning on taking Fjords to Kennewick's
Norwegian Heritage Days, but we are now as excited as ever!
Thanks again Patti Jo!!
PS - I'm going to try to post photos tomorrow of Ole on the race track on
our website for all to see.
