Yes!!! It is spread by oral contact with food, water, hands, etc.
that are contaminated with infected fecal matter.
Humans, cats, dogs and many other critters can get coccidiosis --
wash up good after working with a sick one.

Which is not to say that routine and thorough washing up was not a good
idea, it is. =)))))))
