My Gus is pretty quiet. I've had him for 9 years now and this past year is the most I have ever heard him talk..... he would once in a while give low almost under the breath 'nickers' when I'd bring food, but now he nickers all the time to me ....... you can imagine my shock when he was at the opposite end of the paddock and I called to him (in human talk of course) and he actually whinny at me....... oh the joy of it!! that was the very first time!! It sure did warm my heart! :) He has become more verbal this last year, and nickers at me at lot more. I love it!

Early last month I took a lesson on the horse in the paddock next to Gus and he was so jealous...... he was consumed with it......pacing back and forth, putting his head over the fence......... it was actually humrous. I went over and talked to him for a bit and he calmed down after that. Another lady was there and saw it all. She couldn't believe it, how upset he was that I (his person!!!) had taken out another horse and not him!. And I don't think it was because his horse friend was out of the paddock, it was because I had her out. She is always out, with other people or moved to another paddock and he never acts like that at all. He was JEALOUS! LOL
