i actually learned a new way last week when we had a short at the barn where 
oz lives. she took a wooden handled hammer, hooked the working end of it over 
the wire, and then touched the claw tip to a metal t post. worked like a 
charm, since half the time if i use a fence checker i can't see the lights 
anyhow.

laurie, and oz, who has been known to use his forelock for insulation so he 
can reach for grass under the fence
