Jim just drove from Sonoma County (just North of San Francisco) up to the far Northeastern corner of the state. He was in smoke almost the entire distance. Northern California is on fire, with literally around 700 fires. There were more on Wednesday, but many of them combined to reduce the overall number. Our local firefighters are, ironically, off defending the Shasta prison because the inmate firefighters are off fighting fires elsewhere. So...where is Jeff Pedersen? Is he off for the summer and safe? Or out there struggling with it. Or maybe, this time, he gets to stay in Southern California trying to keep that area safe.
