This message is from: "Frederick J Pack" <friendlyf...@hughes.net> I sadly report that our foundation mare, Susie C-48, reported to the Rainbow Bridge. She would have been 35 years old in two weeks. Her rear end would no longer support her for long and once down..she could not get up. I picked her up twice with the tractor but when she went down the last time, we had to say goodbye. Susie came to us on Christmas Day, 1997. She was carrying her final foal, Troika. Her foal, Troika, stood guard at the doorway all night out in the snow. Susie was inside one of our small barns. We had alerted the vet the night before that he probably would be needed. She crossed the "Bridge" with her head in my lap. She came to us with dignity, and left the same way.
