In California it is now possible to leave a trust fund for an animal. Not all states allow it. Before one had to leave the funds to an individual and hope they did not just ditch the animal. I am not certain how well that is working out. The law is fairly new. I know from experience that people go a little crazy after the death of a loved one...and it does not always work out well. Gail One thing I need to do soon is to make plans for any of my surviving animals in my will...maybe that's a topic we could cover on this list. My husband wants to "go first" because he says he can't take care of my critters if I "go first"! Just what are our options since at the present, my adult daughters who love & ride horses simply can't afford to board. It's something to seriously consider.... Enough said...
