An FYI from the USDF. Mike ========================================================== July 28, 2009 RE: Update regarding All-Breeds Award certificates. Dear USDF All-Breeds Award Program Participating Organization Representative: We would like to inform you of a change to our overall year-end award certificate process. Effective for the 2009 competition year all year-end award certificates will only be available online for award recipients. This includes All-Breeds certificates as well as other year-end awards. This measure follows a motion made at the 2008 Board of Governors Annual Meeting, to address budgetary concerns. Subsequent to that meeting, the USDF Awards Council recommended that USDF no longer print and mail certificates, and that these be made available to award recipients online. Therefore, USDF has developed a program by which competitors can access and print their own personal award certificates via the USDF Web site. This allows award recipients access to their award certificates in a timely manner and enables multiple copies to be printed. Recipients will also be able to access these certificates in future years through our new Historical Awards Reports. Each champion and reserve champion awarded will continue to receive custom cast USDF medals that will either be presented on stage at the Adequan/USDF Annual Convention, or mailed from the USDF office after the convention if they are unable to attend. USDF will also continue to publish award recipients in the USDF Yearbook, USDF Awards Banquet Book and on the USDF Web site. Furthermore, USDF is committed to continued communication to competitors via the USDF Directory, the USDF Web site, and the USDF Connection magazine, regarding USDF eligibility requirements, the declaration process, the Preliminary and Final awards standings on the USDF Web site and the intent of each All-Breeds Participating Organization in regards to the number of awards to be recognized at each level and division. The All-Breeds certificate processing fee of $18 will continue to provide your organization with current up to date award standings on the USDF Web site in addition to accurate tracking of dressage scores from all horses enrolled in the USDF All-Breeds program. We have made some significant positive changes in the past few years regarding the USDF All-Breeds program and will continue to work to provide additional constructive changes in the future to both your organization and our competitors. I look forward to continuing to work with your organization regarding the 2009 USDF Awards Program. Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions, comments and suggestions. Sincerely, Krystina Firth Senior Competitions Coordinator (859) 271-7895 kfi...@usdf.org Important FjordHorse List Links: Subscription Management: http://tinyurl.com/5msa7e FH-L Archives: http://tinyurl.com/rcepw Classified Ads: http://tinyurl.com/5b5g2f
