I worry about the
breeding of Fjords for sportier horses, finer bones, longer legs, skinnier
bodies. I am not a breeder, but I just love the way the "foundation" Fjord
horse looks. (Lola)


YOU AND ME both, sister ! I love to see bona fide foundation stock.
I was looking at an "old brick" of a horse a few days ago, drooling..
"Capstone's Petra." I love that old girl. I wish I could post a photo I have
of her which is a classic for foundation stock.
I believe Hallie O'Malley told me she was used as a model in
Robert Duncan's paintings. (not sure how many times).
In full disclosure, she is the dam to one of our stallions.. he produced
the most substantial Fjord horse "tree trunk" legs to date! ha ha.
