Hi List. Went to a new tack auction to pick up a Western saddle for my rider, Chris, whos own saddle is falling apart and is so broken down that Im afraid he will be riding home bareback one of these days. Soon. Really soon. ; / Chris came along....we made a list of our top 9 favorites and bid on our # 1 choice. I ended up getting it and at a great price, 400.00. + tax and a 10 % buyers premium. Similar saddles at the auction went for 600-850. Mine came up early, so I got lucky. Of course here it sits in my tack room....and except for pictures, he is so comfortable in his old one, that unless I insist, it will never be used. I have my 2K Tucker, so this one is now for sale. Not looking to make a dime, just cant stand to see it sit on a stand instead of a Fjord. Jeff sits in a box seat only, so....<g> Its a Montana brand, western roping saddle, full QH bars, 16 inch seat. Round cut skirt for those short coupled Fjords and it fits my Fjords here great. Beautiful saddle with dark brown leather and a light rawhide trim to the cantle and a soft light, leather wrapped horn. Very thick nice lambs wool type padding under, and we used a simple medium lightweight wool pad to ride with. Rawhide tree. Fully rigged with lots of straps to tie stuff to. Heavy duty sticking and buckles, nice heavy boot sz stirrups, very nicely made. I will throw in FREE the brand new wide ( very white ) cotton rope cinch with leather which was 25.00, a 39.00 dollar value in the stores. Ridden in a total of 5 times, looks just about perfect.
