This is just a follow-up to an email Bonnie Morris posted last week about
a
pending bill in Oregon. The email I pasted below, was copied from an
email
sent out by Sen. Chris Telfer of Oregon. (It is re-posted here from a
central
Oregon horse -list I belong to.)
If you are on Oregon voter and are opposed to this proposed bill, please
write
the following committee members mentioned below, as well as your local
representatives. If you are outside of Oregon, especially from a border
state,
you might also want to send a short note mentioning the points that would
impact you if you were to transport a horse through Oregon, or were
sending a
horse to be bred here.

for your email. Our office has been flooded by emails from folks opposing
this bill and not yet received a single email in support of this bill, but
I
would definitely encourage you to email committee members with your
concerns. The committee will first review the bill and the Chair will
make
a decision as to whether or not it gets a hearing. Committee members then
vote on the bill and only if it passes out of committee, does the Senate
cast
their votes. The same process then repeats in the House.
