I haven't had much luck posting these, so if parts of this are repeats, sorry!

Lars settled into his new home (Charlotte, TN) right away. He decided that my
Fjord mare, Gaven, was a fine substitute for Ellen's lovely Kari. Gaven
immediately came into heat, so apparently the feeling was mutual!

I didn't ride him outside the arena because I had to order an over-sized
headstall and halter. Murphy's Law says that our TWH / Haflinger wears
cob-sized and Gaven wears horse-sized. Just got Lars' gear, and he may wind up
with a Dr. Cook's bitless. He goes better in the halter than the bridle - all
he needs is a feather-light touch.

When I went out to see him on Weds, I came around the tree line and couldn't
decide which Fjord I was seeing... Looked too big to be Gaven, but was in her
paddock. Her paddock is inside the pasture where Lars and Pip live, so maybe
the angle was wrong?

Nope. When I got closer, Gaven came out from the back of the paddock and it
became clear that there were two creamy horses in the 16' x 64' space. Two
creamy horses that had only been introduced a few days earlier, and then, only
through the fence.

Lars had walked through the water trough long-ways to get in her fence-panel
paddock. He avoided the hot wire on the outside of the trough on one hand, and
only slightly moved the post that holds the fence panel closed on the other
hand. There was some tell-tale Lars hair on the post. Oh, and he didn't
break out the bottom of the trough, so he must have been holding light
thoughts. : )

Not a scratch or lump on either one of them, though I saw that Gaven was moving
Lars around handily. I guess he recognizes a strong personality when he sees it!

Stay tuned for more installments of Lars' Adventures! May they all be as much
of a non-event as this one was!
